Commander

Here are pictures from throughout our history: the 40's to the present. If you're a veteran of the 122nd, we're always looking for more! Contact Lt Rob: webmaster@122sos.freeservers.com.

O-2 over II Corps AOA
Part of missions performed with the USAF in SEA for Operation GLADHAND.
(Official Air Force photo.).

122's Lockheed Ventura ca. 1956
It needed too much maintenance, but it looked great in CAP colors!

122 Birddog
Not sure of the year, but it's somewhere over SEA. The orange panels were to keep the fast movers from running us over!

II Corps Support, 1968
Capt Phil and one of the Skymasters on deployment. In keeping with our non-combatant role, the rocket pods were for "marking targets" only!

Loaded for bear!
Sometimes the people we fly over don't like being flown over. Here, Capt. Ron checks his equipment before mounting up. The hardware is just in case he ends up setting the bird down among the wrong types of people!

Out for a swim!
Team 1 members leaving the jump door of the C-182 Skylane on a 'fast and low' pass out into the Pacific off Coronado NB. Their chutes barely opened before they hit the water! Not for the faint of heart, but that's what these guys do for a living.

INS Assistance
Lt Col Ron and Capt Dave departing for a low-level border patrol for the INS.

This pic dates from our SEA deployment. We're not sure who the pilots are (If you know, contact the webmaster.).

MC-172 Super Skyhawk (PAVE VIGILANT)
This is one of the squadron's uprated Skyhawks with the 180+ hp motor, capable of 135 knot cruise. It is currently outfitted for night interdiction, observation and SAR.

Ride'em Cowboy!
Major Paul and Capt Ron back from a spin in the OV-10 Bronco the squadron evaluated. Paul said it was just as unstable as he remembered and we deemed it unsuitable for CAP purposes.
