The 122nd Special Operations Squadron is part of the Civil Air Patrol, the
United States Air Force Auxiliary. Civil Air Patrol was formed in 1941 and for over sixty
years has been performing Missions for America!

The 122nd SOS primarily flies the Cessna O-2 Skymaster. It is one of

wishing to become part of the finest flight squadron in the Civil Air Patrol:

Recent Missions
20-23 SEP 2003 - Eight sorties (12 hours) for PAVE Vigilant system training for new
Scanners/Observers. Congratulations to Lt Mike, Capt Tom and Capt Gail on earning
their wings!
11-12 SEP 2003 (AC: N103) - Two sorties (six hours) in support of missing persons search
at high altitude in mountainous terrain. Conducted with NODs and FLIR. Successful.
09 SEP 2004 (AC: N103) - Four sorties (sixteen hours) in support of counternarcotics
efforts by the DEA, providing high-resolution real-time hyperspectral imaging. This
resulted in no arrests.
30-31 AUG 2004 (ACs: N232 & N555A) - NVD orientation flights: three sorties (13
hours).
29 AUG 2004 (AC: N103) - DEA support mission (6 hours). Located marijuana field (approx.
40 acres) and destroyed via air drop.
14-15 AUG 2004 - NBC and water operations and recovery training at USNB Coronado. Much
thanks to USN for assistance! |

Unit Commander
Commander of the 122nd Special Operation Squadron is Lt Col Ron. Ron is a
former military pilot with several thousand hours of flight experience in several
different types. He also has ties to the DEA and Special Operations community.
